The beds were nice - pretty comfy and felt looked/smelled like the linens were clean. Very messy, which makes the room feel like you are staying at a second-rate hotel instead of a nice hotel. Blue paint all over the mirror, door frames, light switches, etc. And I completely concur that it looks like a 5 year-old painted the room. The shower floor felt dingy - part of my bathroom door had a chunk missing out of it? The microwave and fridge were sitting on the floor, stacked on top of each other and looked like they were from the 1980s. My room was connected to another room by a door - I went to double-check the lock on the door and saw that it was broken, but there was a nightstand with a lamp pushed up agaisnt it, so felt relatively safe?!? The room was not clean - I looked in the coffee cups and there was an inch of dirt/dust on the bottom - someone else's hair was in the shower. I think I lucked out with the size of my room - it was on a corner and fairly large with 2 double beds on each end of the room. Checking-in was easy and I have to say the front desk staff are fabulous - very upbeat, cheery, eager to please. The elevator had a strange cinnamon smell to it - I think it was an airfreshner - that made me gag everytime I rode the elevator. The sitting area of the lobby had white sheets covering everything, so I'm not sure if they were doing work or painting, but I never saw anyone there. I think my dresser even had shell drawer pulls and there was a huge adirondack chairs next to the doors in the lobby. I'm from the Virginia Beach area and could have sworn this same design was used at a resort hotel there - which makes a lot more sense. Walking in, the lobby looks very beachy and almost resort-like, which is strange for being in the middle of downtown Dallas and a historic hotel. I like boutique hotels and based on the photos and positive reviews, I had higher expectations. I booked Hotel Indigo for a business trip to Dallas Market Center.
